Much More Meloncholic Than Your Other Pieces...

Quite a depressing piece, though I find it a good motivator for trying to make something of yourself.

The graphics were done well, though the characters were a bit plain, and the frame rate felt low. The style was pretty solid and original. The sound was what you'd expect, though perhaps it could've used a consistent song to go with it. A couple parts were funny, but I found it more to be a serious piece with a few relief points than a comical piece. Good work overall.

P.S. This strongly reminds me of an older, similar Flash piece that others who like this might want to see: flash portal number 280021, "I Love Death."

Pretty good.

The visuals were pretty nice. A couple parts looked iffy, but it was pretty consistent.
The style is pretty traditional, but it's spiced up with some funky material and a good range of characters.
The sound was okay. I personally quite dislike how Plum makes her nose sound so clogged when she talks. In addition, the meatwad guy had a very annoying voice (much more so than the actual Meatwad).
Violence wasn't too strong, but there was some, I guess.
No interactivity.
The humor was pretty solid. The ATHF spoof was kind've funny, though the actual characters in it didn't parody it too well. The funniest part for me by far was the absurd erection "ba-BAM". The anime thing was also pretty amusing.
Overall, I'd work on trying to work a bit more on your imitation of what you're parodying, and tweak Plum's voice a bit.

Remember me?

You took a couple of my suggestions. The darker blood and fixed lightsabers look fantastic. :P

In the future I'd add more unique elements. The professor antagonist seemed like the madness Jesus with an eggman ship to me, and the rooms were usually a little plain. Very madnessish. Madness is nice, yes, but there's nothing wrong with branching a bit more. You don't have to change the story a lot. You could introduce biological weapons or dynamic environments or fluctuations in time or... something.

With that said, it was a well-made movie. Keep it up. =]

P.S. That repair noise was familiar. SCV or NS welder?

Mottis responds:

Thnx.

The repair sound was from StarCraft.(SCV repairing a unit)

Didn't seem to special for me...

I know I'll get a bunch of people saying my review was "unhelpful" (even though putting flat 10's and saying "That was funny." is something nobody seems to find unhelpful), but I only found the movie "okay."

Graphics: The stuff synced up to the sound well, and some of the visuals were good. However, the FBF animation was generally very jagged and the tweens didn't look very natural (more easing). Additionally, a lot of the gradients didn't look very good (usually too contrasting).
Style: Ripped off South Park. Ruined any chance of you trying to look original, really. Sorry. (Also, the breast animations during her run didn't seem very tasteful.)
Sound: Good song. A little worn out, but not terribly so. With that said, it's not something that I think makes a good music video animation. Definitely more of a club background song more than a storyteller.
Violence: -
Interactivity: Easter eggs are always nice; make movies more fun.
Humor: There were little tastes of humor, but certainly nothing laugh-out-loud funny or anything.
Overall: It was actually a little sub-par for me. In the future, I'd use a song that doesn't sound so ambient, avoid the borderline-cliche theme, try to get the motions to look more natural, work on the gradients, and definitely, definitely use a more unique visual style. Hope your next movie goes well.

Why is this so highly rated?

Graphics: Using sprites from other movies is iffy. I mean, one doesn't really make any of the artwork, and it looks crappy. It's possible for one to make a decent sprite movie, sure, but there needs to be something to it, and custom sprite frames.
This has nothing to it. The graphics are ripped from other people's work.
Style: Terribly unoriginal. You've got stolen graphics and stolen audio. The only effort you had to put into it was deciding which funny things other people made to steal from and when to switch between frames of "closed mouth," "open mouth," and "open mouth and pointing."
Sound: Stolen, and the audio quality was extremely inconsistent.
Violence: -
Interactivity: -
Humor: You've taken audio clips and threw on some sprites and called it a movie, and nothing more. There were funny interpretations of audio or clever use of material or comical quirks. If you're gonna do random humor, it needs to be original random humor. There needs to be more to it than a clip from a TV show.
Overall: It's just not a good movie. Anyone with a week's worth of Flash knowledge can do it, and the actual humor is just not there. The jokes and the visuals are all old, and the whole things just lacks substance. It required no animation skill, no originality, no writing skill... no nothing. You just think of old sound clips you thought were funny at the time and slapped on some video game sprites. It's not funny. It's old and undeserving. I'm shocked to see this get #1, let alone weekly choice. The added fact that you so pompously took credit for this "work" by putting your names so prevalently in front during the movie just makes me sad. This is not an exemplary flash movie, or even a mediocre one. It's simply bad.

The rest of you can call it clever and witty if you want, but deep down, would you have any trouble assembling something like this yourself? You think that if you went to a "funny TV show audio clips site" and imported some sprites, you couldn't make the same thing? Would it take you more than a few hours?
It's not funny. There's no humor: no punchline, no wit, no cleverness, no comical or ironic situations, no original quirks. There's just clip after clip, and I think anyone with a good sense of humor would get tired of it after one or two clips.
Random humor doesn't have to be stolen. It shouldn't be stolen. Go watch an Arfenhouse or Robot Chicken. Those are what you should be looking for, not sprite movies with stolen audio.

If you're gonna give humor a 10, at least be honest with the other parts. The visuals aren't good--they're choppy and pixelated. The audio is of poor quality. The movie lacks style due to a complete void of originality. It doesn't deserve a perfect score--it's not even close to a perfect movie. I really hope you all can see that.

Sorry to be harsh, but of all the movies to be in the top 1 spot, I really don't think a sprite movie like this should take it, and I really hope Newgrounds doesn't move in a direction that favors stolen material so much.

I'm Impressed.

At first glance, I wasn't expecting too much, but the movie proved to be rather well-done.

The visuals looked good, the style was neat, the voice acting was very good, and the music score was great.

My main suggestion would be to use easing more with your tweens. Other than that, keep it up. =]

Omgersplooge Cameo (equals 10 and fifen)

This seemed EERILY FAMILIAR.

Could it be because you showed most of it to me a long time ago?

Hm...

Good job. I think I mighta liked Comet Crew a bit more, though.

Eternal-Panda responds:

Most likely, Yeah. It was an on and off project scince early last year. I rushed it out the door for the holiday.

And yeah, seriously. How am I EVER going to top that one!? CometCrew > Me

3 problems with the movie...

1. Too much of a generic fight movie.
2. You're a day early.
3. You cannot kill Orange Clock.

=[

stoners-lunchbox responds:

3 problems i can't solve:

1: The so called generic fight movie had a message at the end that you probably didn't bother to watch out for.
2: I won't be here for clockday when everyone will be awake.
3: I didn't kill Orange. Mineral Water did. LoL.

Happy Clock Day!

I love it.

I've already shown it to friends and we've already started quoting it. The movie's got great visuals and hilarious lines. You did a good job making it feel and look like the newground tank logo/loader. The voices were excellent and the music was quite good. Fantastic work.

Favorites:
"Thanks Steve. I feel handsome... today."
"Oh my. I'm getting a major hard-on. That must mean the enemy's near!"
"I hate you so much it's unreal."
"I didn't wake you up, did I?"

Looks pretty nice, but there's issues...

... the main issue being the visuals were totally irrelevant to the song. You could've played almost any other coldplay song to those visuals and the result would've played just the same.

The arms were a little long for me and the animation was lacking easing, though the rest was nice visually.

Overall, the video was definitely above par, but not really exceptional for me.
