I don't usually watch them. But people are wasting time, weekly awards, and front page spaces on them, and I'm not in the wrong to complain about them.

It's not a waste if a lot of other people out there are enjoying the parodies, amirite? I mean, a lot of people -hate- anime, and the fact that it's on basically every channel at all times ... but if kids love to watch it and the ratings are twice that of Western animated shows, is it a waste of a timeslot?

By waste I don't mean like ratings. I mean more like... things that actually show improvement in the community as a whole, and provide good examples of writing and/or animation, or show clever ideas. When you fill TV or NG and whatnot with garbage, the fact that they like it doesn't mean it's good for them, or that there aren't more deserving pieces that should have those slots instead.
